Hong Ji brown sugar is extracted from sugar canes and reduced by boiling. For just one pound of pure brown sugar, 16kg of red sugar cane is required. This method retains the natural flavour and taste of sugar cane, as well as the naturally occurring vitamins and minerals. Hong Ji brown sugar also has a charcoal aroma, which is unique and uncommon amongst brown sugar in the market.
